First Sentinel Bank Employee of the Month Winner

John C. Thompson-President and CEO
Richlands, VA, September 18, 2015 – The Board of Directors of First Regions Bancshares, is proud to announce that John C. Thompson, current President, will become Chief Executive Officer and President effective October 2, 2015.
Thompson will succeed J. Robert Buchanan, who informed the board of his intention to retire earlier this month. Buchanan has served as CEO since 2008. His career included 43 years of combined service at First Sentinel Bank and other financial institutions.
Executive Chairman George W. McCall III said that the succession provides continuity of leadership and leverages the extensive experience of Thompson in leading all operating units of the Bank. McCall said, "John is the ideal choice, and the Bank is well-positioned for future growth. He has proven his leadership within the organization and has been an integral part of the banks success during his time here."
McCall also said, "We thank Mr. Buchanan for all he has done for First Sentinel during his time with the bank, particularly in helping to navigate events during the financial crisis that occurred early in his tenure."
"I am honored to lead such a great company that is positioned to grow, with dedicated employees who are committed to meeting our customer needs every day," said Thompson.
Thompson joined First Sentinel in 2008 as the Chief Credit Officer. He was named President in 2012. John currently resides in Bland, VA with his wife, Leslie, and their three children, Brady, Bailee and Brynlee.
