Sarah Tiller, First Sentinel Bank Operations Manager, has received the Above and Beyond award from the Tazewell County Career and Technical Center. The Above and Beyond award recognizes individuals for their exceptional efforts and dedication to serving the community.

VBA Bank Day 2026

Do you have a high school senior with at least a 3.0 GPA? Encourage them to participate in the Virginia Bankers Bank Day Scholarship program in March! Participating students will have a chance to win up to $7,500 in college scholarships! To be eligible, students must write an essay explaining what they learned during their experience that will help them manage their financial future and how banks support their communities. First Sentinel Bank will be hosting Bank Day from 10am - 1pm in three locations:

Bland - March 3

Lebanon - March 10

Richlands - March 17

Eligibility Criteria:

• Student(s) must currently be enrolled as a high school senior. • Student(s) must hold a 3.0 or higher GPA. • Student(s) must be a resident of Virginia. • Student(s) must attend a high school in the state of Virginia. • Homeschool students are eligible to participate, assuming he or she is equivalent to a high school senior and meets the above criteria. • A child of a bank employee is allowed to participate, assuming he or she meets the above criteria. Students must be registered by February 27.
