Current Openings

 

Training Coordinator – Lebanon.  First Sentinel Bank has an immediate opening for the position of Training Coordinator, based at our Lebanon location.  This position is crucial to the continued growth of FSB and is responsible for the development and delivery of the Bank’s functional and procedural training for all employees. Key functions of this role include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Design and deliver instructional program across FSB’s functional areas, with emphasis on Retail Operations;
  • Act as primary point of contact for internal training requests;
  • Conduct new hire training applicable to employee’s job function;
  • Develop and implement training evaluations to determine program effectiveness;
  • Deliver training reports at management request;
  • Design instructional materials, resources, and presentations as applicable;
  • Coordinate external third-party training as needed.

Qualifications of this position include:

  • Associate’s degree in marketing, business administration, or other related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Three or more years of job-related experience in a training capacity required.
  • Experience in finance/retail banking/sales environment a plus.
  • Familiarity with banking regulations and banking software platforms (i.e. Xperience, CALYX, OnBoard) a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to adapt to a flexible schedule as needed.
  • Willingness to travel between branch locations for business-related matters and/or training as needed.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The ideal candidate for this role will be a high energy individual with proven success in designing and delivering instructional programs, experience using the ADDIE methodology to manage training initiatives, and preferably have a background in sales/finance/retail banking.  Must be comfortable with utilizing technology platforms (i.e. video conferencing, webinars) for instructional delivery.

 

 

Secondary Market Mortgage Loan Officer  – Abingdon. First Sentinel Bank has an immediate opening for an experienced Mortgage Loan Officer to serve our Secondary Market customers in Abingdon, VA and surrounding markets.  This position is responsible for  soliciting new residential mortgage business through our Secondary Market mortgage program and managing the customer relationship from initial application through loan closing.

Some primary responsibilities of the SM MLO position include, but are not limited to:

  • Actively participate in pipeline development activities in accordance with individual lending production goals.
  • Develop and maintain successful relationships with third party referral sources.
  • Interview loan applicants to collect and analyze information to determine creditworthiness.
  • Issue appropriate consumer disclosures within applicable deadlines per regulations.
  • Maintain complete mortgage application files with appropriate documentation in accordance with established lending guidelines.
  • Abide by guidelines set forth in agreement with Wholesale Lenders regarding appraisals.
  • Review developing laws and regulations as they apply to mortgage loan origination.

Qualifications of this position include:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in finance, business administration, or other related field.
  • At least 1 year of residential mortgage lending experience in a financial institution or loan agency setting.
  • Registered Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) with the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS).
  • Demonstrated success in prospecting, generating leads, and consistently meeting/exceeding production goals.
  • Demonstrated understanding of mortgage processing, underwriting, and closing procedures.
  • Knowledge of conventional and/or governmental lending guidelines.
  • Superior communication and negotiation skills. Ability to communicate effectively across a broad base of internal/external customers.
  • Must be able to occasionally travel for training or other business-related matters.
